AHOY!
Thanks for dropping by, come on
in. yeah it’s cool you can take off your shoes,,, but no, uh don’t
put them there...
have you got
4 questions?
You may ask, what makes this site
different than other band sites?
On this site we only offer
unleavened bread this time of the year. For, as our ancestors fled
from slavery they were distracted by the many flavors of bagels:
poppy seed, cinnamon raisin, chocolate-chip, upside-down
pineapple-prawn, vanilla olive, black truffle caramel, (and so
on), and though they were wrathful and there was much wringing of
hands and gnashing of teeth, the elders gave amnesty to all who
still remembered the old days and ways, even those who were overly
liberal with condiments and seasonings. For, let it be said that one
woman’s fruit is another man’s shish kabob.
You may ask,
what’s that sound?
Probably a slightly surreal
piano-bass-driven True Margrit tune telling you a witty and/or
poignant tale. It has a strong likelihood of being in the time
signature of 6/8. Or not.
You may ask, what’s that smell?
Mmmm.
The soup the soup!
You may ask, what time is
it?
I dunno, mate. Third watch? Batten down the hatches, we
are crossing the desert with no dessert.
AND SO...
As you can see from the intro page to this site (wanna see the movie again?), TRUE MARGRIT is (are?) the proud presenter(s?) of our very newest release, Seaworthy ! C'mon in and take a listen, and pick yourself up a copy- it's available everywhere through CD BABY, AMAZON, BORDERS BOOKS, AMOEBA RECORDS, BARNES & NOBLE, TOWER, VIRGIN and more, thanks to our new distribution deal! It's getting some awesome reviews, which will be posted to this site shortly.
We've also been feverishly touring since September (hello, Eugene, Salem, Portland, Vashon Island, Olympia, Bellingham, Sacramento, Roseville, San Rafael, Palo Alto, Emeryville and of course San Francisco, not to mention the absolutely devine Record Release Party at the Red Devil Lounge earlier this month, pictures coming soon) to present it to you live. There have been a multitude of live radio appearences, some of which will find their way to the site for your streaming enjoyment.
(And of course, DECEPTIVELY TRUE is still available as well- though you may have to hurry!)
As if all this weren't enough to keep the good ship MARGRIT humming along, we recently introduced our new blog- the True Margrit Captain's Log- where you'll not only see the latest True Margrit news first, but be treated to our Captain and crew waxing rhapsodic and episodic about food, friends, food, politics, travels, and, well, food- please visit and leave a comment!
The new blog, by the way, is just the first step in what will be a new and improved home for the True Margrit website- so bookmark this site and return often for More News! More Audio! More Fun! and (most importantly) More Recipes! (try out the matzo ball soup recipe. Make it for your mama.)
